Julie’s Pet Care owners Julie Branscomb and Walter Bridwell’s passion and desire to work with animals inspired them to create their pet care business in 2001 and they found it to be their perfect niche!

I have loved animals all my life and became involved with them at an early age. Growing up in a big family, I enjoyed riding horses in my home town of Fort Bragg. I was active in 4-H, raising rabbits, and was also a puppy raiser for Guide Dogs for the Blind; my puppy “Zil” graduated as a Guide Dog!

Later, after moving to Sonoma County, I raised another puppy, “Lizzie”, for Canine Companions for Independence. She became a breeding dog and had 5 litters of puppies for them, many of whom graduated as service or therapy dogs. Personally raising two puppies as service dogs was quite rewarding, and were fun experiences!

Though I also am a cat lover, Walt is the “cat rescuer” of the house — he has a soft spot for any stray that ventures to our place, and they always end up becoming a part of our family! He has also owned many pets throughout his life, and thoroughly enjoys catering to their needs and providing specialized care.

We both have vast experience working with all types of pets, and I have had much experience with whelping and dog training through my years as a Guide Dog and CCI puppy raiser and breeder/caretaker. I also completed a First Aid and Certification program through our professional program National Association of Professional Pet Sitters (NAPPS).

Walt and I continue to educate ourselves in all areas of pet behavior and health, and we are always looking for opportunities to expand our knowledge. We take great pride and pleasure in serving the needs of our clients and pets to the best of our abilities, and we look forward to continuing to provide top-quality pet sitting services throughout the Santa Rosa area.
